YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER

I think a lot about 'time'.
I guess time is what draws me to photography, the idea you can freeze time with a photograph and revisit it, I mean really revisit it - feel like you're back there, feeling all the emotions again, like time travelling through life.
Time, and love and well... now my baby girls.
That's why I do what I do.
The Person
A deep thinker, a deep feeler.
I'm driven by passion, love of life, and my mushy heart.
I have a great family, beautiful friendships, the most incredible partner and two gorgeous girls., Pearl and Mabel.
I was conceived via IVF 20-something years ago and have a strong appreciation for IVF Mumma's that reach out to be captured.
Our own fertility journey wasn't exactly straight forward, until it was...
After seeing a fertility specialist to help us fall pregnant with Pearl, Mabel was unexpectedly conceived when I was still fresh postpartum and breastfeeding. I was, at the time, terrified. But it really goes to show sometimes the universe has a better plan for us than we could've imagined. Our girls were born just under 13 months apart and we truly wouldn't have it any other way.
When I'm not at a shoot, editing or doing admin I am with them, belly laughing, playing, bum tapping, rocking and shhing (Mum's will get that).
The Business
Momentary Visual's was born in January 2020, the sole purpose back then was to feed my obsession.
My creativity went wild, I was asking family and friends constantly if I could photograph them. I remember wanting to reach out to strangers to ask could I photograph them too, but that felt a little weird. 'How can I take photos of people, without being weird?' I remember thinking. And the obvious answer dawned on me.
My business was born and it grew, with love and passion anything is possible.
I followed my heart with one foot in front of the other, and before I knew it I was a photographer, investing in education, upgrading my equipment... and the big one, quitting my day job.
It happened authentically, organically and it always just felt... right.

STYLING ADVICE
First and foremost, I am going to say wear something that is YOU.
These are your memories that I want you to love.
Choosing something that you're going to feel confident and comfortable in is important.
Then build your child/children's outfits around yours'.
Ultimately how you dress should reflect how you want your images to look and feel.
You might wear comfy lounge wear for a cosy natural feel, or you may dress up a little more for a more
The Studio is Earthy and Natural toning, with a lot of creams and browns. The following colour combinations you can't go wrong.
Earthy & Neutral:
Relaxed, moody, on trend. Great way to encorporate textures like knits and linens.

Denim:
Denim is never out of fashion, and nobody can tell me otherwise. It's timeless, it's relaxed and effortless, it's fun.

Whites:
White is classic, it's dressy. It is light and bright, and easy to pair a pattern with; like pictured.

THINGS TO AVOID:
-
Remove any smart watches like Garmens, Apple watches, Fitbits...
-
Take any hair ties and scruntchies off your wrists
-
No bulky items in your pockets
-
Avoid busy clashing or conflicting outfit choices and colours
-
Avoid obvious logo's and print on clothing
-
Shoes. The Studio is a shoes off area to protect the cleanliness with back-to-back sessions

Momentary Visuals Studio is a small, intimate natural light home studio in Drouin created as a relaxed and intimate space to capture timeless portraits of you and your deep connections.
Due to its small size, it is best suited to Newborn sessions, Parenthood sessions, Sibling sessions or individual Child sessions. It is not the most suitable space for Family Sessions.
Because of the natural light nature of the studio, these sessions take place during the day only.
The studio opened in March 2022 and aims to be ever flowing and ever changing as I follow creative ideas and pulls.
Tips to prepare:
-
The studio is mainly white, brown and cream tones - to avoid clashing it is best to choose tones that match or compliment these when choosing your outfits
-
The studio is a small space where lots of love and cuddles are encouraged - we also embrace playfulness and can follow your child's lead/mood within the session.
-
The studio is a no shoes area so prepare for this when choosing your outfits
-
Please park in the gravel area to the side of the driveway and avoid blocking in other vehicles
