Your Photographer

Hello, I'm Chloe!

I'm a Photographer, a memory maker, photo taker, life lover. I have been all those things for most of my life.
But more recently, I am a Mum of two.
My girls Pearl & Mabel were born 12 months apart and looking back it's a blur, blurrier than this photo!
Pregnancy, postpartum and motherhood have been the greatest times of my life. I feel like I have lost myself in many ways, but found who I am actually meant to be.
I have also had some of my darkest days, and darkest thoughts since becoming a Mum and it's..

Family.

It deserves being captured

our process:

I. Arrive

If our shoot is in a public location we will meet in the carpark - we will have the opportunity to chat prior and get to know each other a little.

If our shoot is at your home, I will take an opportunity at the beginning to explore different areas and determine the best spots based on lighting for our shoot - you can also let me know any particular spots you had in mind.

The meeting at the beginning is great opportunity to discuss particular shots you want, things you want to include or things you think I should know about your family before we begin.

II. Take photos.

The fun part.

It usually takes 5 minutes or less for clients who are feeling pre-shoot nerves to relax into the shoot and realise it's not as bad as they thought.

My shoot approach is so relaxed and in the moment. I bring my experience and expertise to the shoot with a magnitude of ideas and a relaxed 'game plan' as such, but my favourite part is when we let magic unfold, this truly is my favourite way to work as it feels so creative, authentic and personal. It's also beneficial to young kids as it allows us to follow their lead, engage with them and meet them where they are at instead of expecting them to perform or conform for us.

III. Deliver memories.

The REALLY fun part - get cosy and comfy to view your whole gallery and get your cheeks ready to hurt from smiling!

Your images are delivered via an online gallery. You will receive the link and password via email. The email will include more info and instructions. All images will be downloadable. They are allll yours!

My standard delivery time is 3 weeks, this does vary depending on workload.

Sneak Peaks prior to gallery delivery are fun, but not promised. Sometimes I'm going back for minor tweaks right up until I have finalised the whole gallery so I don't want to release any images that aren't 100% done.

It is important to know, in our contract I say to allow up to 6 weeks for gallery delivery because sometimes life happens... I have never taken 6 weeks for a standard session, but if it is going to take longer than expected I will always be in touch first with an update and explanation.

Styling Advice

How you dress should reflect how you want your images to look and feel. The style of the clothes will single handedly mould the style of our session.

Cosy and relaxed? Elegant and put together? Raw and earthy? Colourful and bright?

I welcome alllll forms of self expression.

Start by thinking where our session will be, and what mood you want the photos to hold.

What feels like YOU? What reflects your family?

Then, choosing something that you're going to feel confident and comfortable in is important.

Build your partner's outfit around yours'. Make his fit with you.

Another note on partners, if he (or she) isn't keen on photos - like some aren't - guide or suggest what you would like them to wear but be understanding that they also need to feel comfortable and themselves.

Colours and Patterns

It all depends how you want your images to look. Are you hanging them in your house? What colours will compliment your home?

The safest, different shades of browns, creams, whites... these tones usually compliment the environment we shoot in and my editing style.

If you're a colour lover and want to get creative or embrace your natural style, absolutely go for it! We can chat personally about your outfits too, just send me a message or email any time and I am happy for to help with decisions!

Texture

Adding clothing that has texture brings more depth to your images.

Think knitted items, linen, corduroy, lace.

oUTFITS determine the VIBE

This family went for a casual walk with their pups to their local park.

The vibe was Sunday morning stroll, which they do often and wanted to capture those memories.

Your clothing has more effect on the vibe of the shoot than your location does, there is no wrong way to dress - these are your photos and how you want them to look is important.

Accessories

Adding 'props' or accessories to our session can help change the feel of our final images and tie your story together.

You may include an umbrella on a drissily rugged up day, a blanket or throw to wrap around the family or cuddle in the grass on, having a drink from a coffee mug in the kitchen or lounge.

Things to Avoid

  • Remove any chunky smart watches like Garmens, Apple watches, Fitbits...
  • Take any hair ties and scruntchies off your wrists
  • Remove your sunglasses
  • No bulky items in your pockets
  • Avoid busy clashing or conflicting outfit choices and colours (this is subject to your vibe)
  • Avoid obvious logo's and print on clothing (again, subject to vibe)

LOCATION OPTIONS

The location is a big player, it has a big impact on not only the overall feel of your images, but the experience of your session as well. If you hate the beach and you never go there by choice, let's not do our session there.

Your input in the location is vital. If you have a place that is special, a family farm, your own home, a public space you visit often, please let's do it there!

I love special places.

It could be somewhere as casual as the skatepark, the main street, the city streets, the local cafe. Anywhere that you love to spend time, or just somewhere you think feels like you or looks nice!

If you aren't sure we can pick a place that just feels right from the choices below.

yOUR HOME

Imagine looking back on life's memories in the meaningful place that you made so many of them.

Our homes are characters in our lives, and I love including them in your memory holding.

For a lot of people it's also a more comfortable space.

We can use the indoor of your home, the outdoor or both!

The most common misconception is that your home has to be aesthically pleasing. No. It just has to have enough natural light.

beach

The beach is always a good idea! In Summer it's warm and refreshing, in Winter we rug up for cozy fresh air session listening to the waves crash. The beach we go to is dependant on where you live and our session date. If you have a beach that you love or visit often around the area, or further away I am always excited to try somewhere new.

bush/parkland

If you love the outdoors, but you aren't much of a beach lover there are lots of leafy parklands and 'bush' type settings in the local areas I use often, and of course if you know of somewhere you like let me know.

literally anywhere

I am so excited to try new spots too, some really natural and 'in the moment' sessions at Cafe's, the skatepark, a marina, playground... around town, literally anywhere!!

If you'd like somewhere a bit different, or you have an unusual idea, reach out let's chat!
